Earlier this year, Libra Speciality Chemicals Ltd announced our latest multi-million-pound capital investment programme in Irlam, UK, to install new technology to produce novel low salt betaines, and to increase our betaines capacity to 50,000 tonnes per annum with the addition of two new reactors.
We currently have half of our new tank farm in place ready to be commissioned. In total, Libra is adding an additional 865,000 litres of storage for our betaine products, including low-salt betaine.
Recent progress includes the foundations for our second new weighbridge, dedicated to our betaine plant, tanker loading area and state of the art pumping system being installed. This will increase our manufacturing and logistic efficiencies providing our loyal customers with World Class customer service.
We are very much on track to deliver our full capital investment project by the end of 2021.
