Who Are the RSPO?
RSPO is global, multi-stakeholder initiative on certified sustainable palm oil products. Their principal objective is to ‘promote the growth and use of sustainable palm oil through cooperation within the supply chain and open dialogue between its stakeholders’. The use of business-to-business communication means affiliated organisations can communicate to other organisations on the supply chain about either the presence of certified palm oil in its products, or that its products support the production of certified sustainable palm oil.
What is NDPE?
No Deforestation, No Peat, No Exploitation (NDPE) is a policy that involves the ethical supply of natural resources for production. Commitment to this policy has resulted in positive transformational change throughout supply chains. It is vital that we focus on the NDPE approach and sustainable production for ourselves and for the future of our precious planet.
Why Do We Promote Sustainable Palm Oil?
The effects of unsustainable palm oil can be detrimental to the environment, causing habitat losses, deforestation, and pollution. Our aim is to continue to reduce the damaging effects of palm oil on the environment, whilst accommodating consumer demands. When purchasing raw materials within our supply chain we always look for sustainable, eco-friendly and naturally derived materials to use within our products.
Our Sustainable Low Salt Betaine Products
Libra’s brand new Low Salt Betaines are produced from C12-18 Fatty Acid, which is palm oil derived. Our experienced procurement team are able to source this essential raw material sustainably.
