The formation of the European Oilfield Speciality Chemicals Association (EOSCA) in 1990 came about because of the increasing regulatory requirements relating to the approval of offshore chemicals and drilling muds in the late 1980’s.
The North Sea regulators had considered the E & P Forum to represent all the industry, and it was felt that the chemical suppliers and their end-users (the oil and gas operators) would have the same concerns. However, EOSCA managed to convince first the UK, then the Dutch and latterly the Norwegian regulators that there were positives from having another industry body representing the supply side of the industry when discussing regulations directly related to the supply, use and discharge of their chemicals.
From these early beginnings, EOSCA has developed into a recognised and respected consultee in the oilfield chemical regulation field. See some of the Current Projects EOSCA are working on.
Libra Speciality Chemicals proudly produce a wide range of surfactants and speciality chemicals that have specific applications within the oil and gas industry and joining the EOSCA is within the best interest of our business.
We produce low-salt betaines, phosphate esters, dioctylsulphosuccinates and alkyl Poly Glucosides that all have uses in the oilfield chemical industry.
